Institute of Early Childhood
The Institute of Early Childhood at Macquarie University is the major provider of undergraduate courses preparing students to work in early childhood settings in New South Wales. Network of Community Activities
The Network provides training for out of school hours and vacation care staff and committees, at metropolitan and rural locations in New South Wales. Types of training provided include inservice training, customised training and vocational training. Australian Childhood Foundation
Through its professional education, de-briefing and consultancy program, the Australian Childhood Foundation (formerly known as Australians Against Child Abuse) provides education and training programs for a range of professionals on child abuse, trauma and family violence. Centre for Community Welfare Training
CCWT is the educational arm of the Association of Childrens Welfare Agencies. It was set up in 1986 to provide cost effective and accessible training opportunities for people working in the community welfare sector generally and with vulnerable children, young people and families in particular. Jannawi Family Centre

Action on Disability within Ethnic Communities
Action on Disability within Ethnic Communities (ADEC) is a community based organisation which represents the rights and needs of people of non-English speaking background with a disability and their carers. The Education Unit offers cultural awareness training to organisations working with people from Non-English speaking backgrounds. Diversity Health Institute, Transcultural Mental Health Centre
The Transcultural Mental Health Centre promotes access to mental health services for people of non-English speaking background. The Centre conducts a range of forums, seminars, clinical workshops and a Psychology Intern Program. Inservice sessions are conducted on request, which provide information and resources on services available to clients of non-English speaking background. A program to provide education for GPs in the area of cross cultural mental health is currently being developed.

Indigenous issues
Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre
The Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre is a non-profit organisation that promotes indigenous leadership skills and ability. Two courses are offered: the Certificate Level Leadership Program, a practical hands-on course designed for Indigenous men and women living in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and active in community affairs; and the Diploma Level National Leadership Program, a more specialised, higher level course intended to support leaders with a vision of national and regional leadership - this course is intended for participants who are perceived as leaders within their communities.

Institute of Koorie Education
Programs of the Institute of Koorie Education at Deakin University are structured around off-campus community based delivery, supported by on-campus intensive study blocks and complemented by local tutors at regional study centres. This approach to course delivery promotes access and equity for Indigenous Australian students. Students from all areas and across all age ranges, particularly mature age, are able to undertake studies. Bachelor degrees are offered in Arts, Teaching/Education, Applied Science, Nursing, Social Work, Laws, Information Systems, and Commerce. The Master of Public Health and Graduate Diploma of Natural Resource Management are also available through the Institute of Koorie Education.

Kulkathil Community Skill Centre
The Kulkathil Community Skill Centre is an innovative, holistic and grounded approach to Indigenous education, training, employment, enterprise development and community development. Accredited and unaccredited training and short courses are offered, as well as enhancement of existing community training and industry development activities. There is a focus on the development of digital literacy in Indigenous community contexts.

Conflict Solvers offers an intensive three day course, Mediation Training for Professionals, in Melbourne, Brisbane and Townsville. Training is for professionals who wish to learn the skills required for creative conflict resolution, and includes a theoretical component as well as hands-on work. Family Mediation Centre
The Family Mediation Centre offers training in mediation for professionals, which can be used to compliment or as an alternative to interventions currently used and is useful in a broad range of settings. The training course gives particular reference to Parent/Adolescent and Family Law mediation, and is divided into Level 1, providing a foundation in both the theory and practice of mediation, and Level 2 which provides an opportunity to observe and practice advanced skills.

Centre for Child and Family Development
The Centre For Child and Family Development promotes awareness and understanding of the emotional life of children and adolescents, and how this affects their behaviour and future development. The Centre runs training programs on child and family development for all professionals who work with children, adolescents, parents and families, in any setting.
The Centre for Child and Family Development runs an annual Foundation Course in Child and Family Development. In 2008 this will be held on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th March at St. Hilda's College, University of Melbourne. The Foundation Course provides training for multi-disciplinary professionals working with children, adolescents, parents and families in any setting. The Course is devised and run by Dr. Ruth Schmidt Neven, child psychotherapist and Director of the Centre. Her book "Emotional Milestones" is included in the cost of the course.

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare is the peak body for over 80 community organisations delivering child and family support and welfare services. The QEC Education Unit is able to provide a range of parent education sessions, and professional education for maternal child health nurses, child protection workers, early childhood workers, specialist early childhood services, community workers, foster carers and parents. The Stepfamily Association of Victoria is a self-help, non-profit organisation offering support, education, and resources to stepfamilies. Triple P - Positive Parenting Program
The Triple P - Positive Parenting Program is a multi-level, parenting and family support strategy that aims to prevent severe behavioural, emotional and developmental problems in children by enhancing the knowledge, skills and confidence of parents. Parents can choose to do a Triple P Group Program, attend a seminar or receive an individual consultation. Training courses for professionals offer training in various levels of intervention for practitioners.

AISRAP, at Griffith University, promotes and conducts research in all aspects of suicide prevention, and provides education and training for professionals and volunteers. AISRAP's Suicide Prevention Skills Training Workshops provide a complete knowledge and skills based approach to suicide prevention training across prevention, intervention and postvention. The workshop has been developed for individuals working within a broad range of fields including health, education, emergency, clergy, law enforcement, community and social services.
