Sometimes children need help to find resources for homework or school activities - and some projects provide homework clubs or centres. Here we link to some websites that can be used for homework help, activities for children, lesson planning etc. The emphasis is on easily accessible, free resources.
CSIRO Education
Programs are offered designed to encourage students to participate in science and mathematics activities. eg. Science by Email, a free email service. Every week, Science by Email sends out a newsletter with cool experiments, the latest science news and links to great science sites on the web. Another example:

with information for primary and secondary students, and activity pages for teachers to use.

This site has a huge range of information available, as well as quizzes,
games, search facilities to free online almanac, dictionary, atlas, encyclopedia.
Also teaches homework skills, and how to cite Fact Monster as a
source of information used in homework etc.
Geoscience Australia
Geoscience Australia is the national agency for geoscience research and geospatial information. A section on the website titled
Fabulous Facts about Australia includes information about
Australia's dimensions, landforms, land tenure - also, there are free maps to
download.
